ambridge Primary starts learners on an exciting educational journey. Typically for 5 to 11 year olds, it provides a strong foundation for students at the beginning of their schooling before progressing through the Cambridge Pathway in an age-appropriate way.
The Cambridge subjects taught at RS are:
- English as a First Language
- Mathematics
- Combined Science
- History
- Geography
- Art and Design
- Music
- Physical Education (PE)
- Computing
- Drama
- Modern Foreign Languages (From Y3)
Students who are not fluent in English, or need additional English help, may have additional English Lessons.
This will allow them to catch up quickly to access the English as a First Language Curriculum.
To assess learner performance and report progress to students and parents, RS uses the Cambridge Primary testing structure, the most important exam being the external Cambridge Checkpoint exam at the end of Year 6 (English 1st Language, Mathematics and Science). Success in these exams are not a prerequisite to move into Y7
